another place that the ex loved, but this one was a GREAT choice. the pizza was very CHEESY and tasty. and they always threw in a couple cans of coke for free! and the price was really cheap. the delivery guys were also actually friendly! i'll miss this place so im not in that area anymore, but whenever i go to the geneva area, i'll be sure to grab lunch here!

One of my friends had her birthday party here a year ago. We all live nearby and she was surprised to hear that I haven't ever been to Bravo. She has frequently come here and the owners all know her by name; they greeted us very friendly, as if we were their family (even myself and her friends who don't have that frequent-visitor relationship with them). I thought that was simply fantastic; we were also seated quickly, which was definitely a plus.

We ordered a lot of pizzas and they overheard us, as we asked the birthday girl what she wanted to do after our birthday lunch for her. The owner came out and surprised us all with free drinks and free bread; it was just a fantastic gesture, yet we were in for a bigger surprise. He came by and casually asked us if we were finishing up, we answered in the affirmative and five minutes later he came out with some ice cream with a candle lit on top! The pizzas, bread, and the ice cream (there was a lot for everyone to share) was simply great. Now I'm a die-hard Little Joe's fan along with my family but I must say: Bravo, you guys rock! We left a nice tip and we also came by with a thank you card just for that extra uumph of customer service.

This has to be one of the best pizza places in the San Fran. Order your self either a small or a medium and you get coke. Now how cool is that. My favorite has to be cheese and add the hot pepper flakes. It is on and crackin'. If I want toppings, usually I get bell peppers and onions; and that's all I need. Everyone should try Bravo's at least once, you only have this lifetime.

Here's my breakdown for Bravos Pizza

Pros
Good pizza
Open LATE
Big portions
Free soda with take out pizza

Cons
Cash only, or use their high fee in house ATM machine
Not exactly an all smiles work force
Often too crowded

It doesn't quite stack up with Za Pizza but it was quite delicious. We had salami and mushroom with a pitcher of beer. Plus, you can't beat the neighborhoody, been-open-for-forever feel of the inside.

I will be back whenever Alfonso brings me back here! Until then if I am going to travel for pizza it will be to Za.

This is solid pizza.  Solid = heavy-duty thick crust, chunky sauce (just the right balance of tomato, garlic and spice), plentiful toppings, friendly delivery staff.  It's the style of pizza that cures a hangover (or at least it did for me - man, I was hurtin'!).   I had the Romano special and it did the trick.  Sort of weird that it comes with free Cokes (I don't drink soda), but that's obviously a popular extra touch, so now I have 3 cokes in my fridge that I'll never drink.  Will definitely order again and maybe even venture into the Excelsior to try it in person.  Bravo!

oh. I forgot that after you clap you have to stand up and yell out...

Braw VOE! Braw Voe! BRAVO!

!!!

you might have to say bravo three times for some odd reason. Don't quote me on that, but I think I've seen it in a Bugs Bunny Episode awhile back and I swear he said it three times. Not sure if there is a significance to how many times you have to say the word...but...if there isn't...you can just ignore this update. Actually just ignore me in general.

(i know. that was just dumb)

I used to live in Daly city, and for years my family ordered and went to this place.  I ended up moving across the bay and I was so bummed that I could go as often as we'd had in the past.

Although I haven't visited there in the last year, I have to say that my brother still goes and he brought over a pie for us one evening and it's still the same, just as yummy as I remember it!

This is a good place to go if you're out late one night or if you're in a hurry and you don't feel like cooking.

Not my kind of Pizza.

They make Chicago deep dish pizza where all the toppings are piled underneath the cheese. I had ordered a vegetarian pizza and the moisture from the vegetables and tomato sauce made the pizza soo soggy that the bottom of the box was soggy too. The crust was thick and flavorless.

It is HEAVY and OILY and Soggy.

Bravo's is a great late night, drunk or sober place to grab some cheap yummy pizza. I found this place through my sisters' ex and loved it ever since. I use to come here at least once a week until I gained so much weight, I just couldn't eat any more until I loose weight. The place is a little hole in the wall but the food is good and service is always friendly.

We usually order the small (enough for two) with HOT LINK SAUSAGE, and the other half, my usually pepperoni, mushroom, and olives. The pizza is always loaded with lots of cheese and lots of toppings! Their garlic bread with cheese is also yummy. Really huge portion of garlic bread for cheap. The Pizza crust itself is like a sourdough crust.. dip it in some Ranch dressing? So damn good!

Make sure you bring CASH!

I've tried NY style pizza. Ray's, and some other one. Trash.  I've tried Chicago Deep dish, Giordano's. It was actually EXCELLENT.
But no pizza i've ever tried is as good as Bravo Pizza. We always get the "#1" which is the bravo special. Pepperoni, meatballs, mushrooms and onions. They have a bunch of other pizzas, but this is the best one. They also sell a lot of other italian dishes, none of which i care for. This is the best pizza in the city. Geneva pizza, Roma Pizza, not even Blondie's off Market can compare. The inside is kind of old though, i dont know why , considering how many people eat there. The pizzas are priced well, my mom says the coffee is always good.. The sauteed mushrooms and chef salad are heeella good. This is the best pizza ever.

I don't know, but I love this place.

When I lived in the city, across the street from Balboa Park, I found myself here for those late night muncies or the casual gathering of neighborhood buddies. Located right at the junction of Geneva and Mission, this place is not hard to find.

Parking can very well be a challege if driving. You'll solely have to depend on street parking. And along Mission, sometimes that can be bummer.

Its so inviting once inside. You lose all that tension and stress once the smell of the pizza's slowly cooking away in the ovens attacks your nostrils which just furthers your hunger, LOL. No really.

It feels "Homey". Like you can order then sit down and chop it up with whoever you are there with and just relax. I don't know but I find the booths seating extremely comfortable. The seat sinks in and cradles your bum almost like a Tempur Pedic mattress, but that's probably because they are old, LOL!

The pizza is great. Full of flavor, fluffy, and plenty to go around. They don't hold back on the toppings either. They'll fill that sucker up!

I need to come back. Mabye I'll rile up a few old buddies that are still around and we'll go here for a reunion eat and drink.

Pitcher + Pizza = Good Times!

This place and Little Joe's are the only pizza places in the neighborhood that still hasn't changed their recipe over the years. As long as they keep it up, they will always have a loyal customer; 20 years and counting. If you want something a little more cheesy, go to Bravos. If you want something with a thinner crust, go to Little Joe's. Either way, they're both outstanding. Although, I'd give the edge to Bravos because it's slightly cheaper.

San Francisco isn't known as a pizza town, and for a good reason too. The pizza here kind of sucks. It's hard to have a really amazing pizza experience, it's not New York or Chicago.

So as with most pizza places here I wasn't expecting much when I was about to embark on my pizza eating journey. I expected something decent but not truly life changing.

That's exactly what I got with Bravo, a decent pizza that is great to eat when drunk or late at night when nothing else is open. But nothing that would ever constitute relying on it to be a full meal. Oh wait, it comes with 3 cans of coke, well I guess that it's now worth having it or breakfast, lunch or dinner. Go get bravo pizza NOW.

They also aren't open on Monday's at 3pm or something, who does that? Minus one star for weird hours.

I can't believe that in all my years living in the city I've never been here, even though at one point I lived up the block. I came here with a friend last night, and it was a nice experience. The place seems a bit run down, but I think it contributes to the charm... like an old school pizza joint. This place is open late, the service is wonderful, and the pizza is good (their small sized pizza is perfect for two people)! I want to go here again and try more things... loved it!

my favorite pizza place.  bravo serves straight old school thick crust, lotsa cheese, lotsa topping, calorie filled, heart attack in a pan-pizza.  none of that bobby brown round table taste like cardboard pizza.  they have other pasta dishes and entrees, but go for the meat special - pepperoni, salami, sausage, ham, and linguica.

Last nite was pizza nite.  I decided to place the delivery order while my Xo worked out at the gym.  I ordered our usual medium pizza with chicken, garlic & mushrooms (our favorite toppings).  The pizza dough is thick, the red sauce is enough for the flavor & the cheese is alot so you dont have to order extra cheese. I decided to try the chicken scallopini which consisted of slices of chicken & mushrooms over fettucine noodles with wine sauce.  The mushrooms are indeed huge!  The taste was fairly bland so I had to add the parmesan cheese that they gave us.  On top of all our order, we got 2 cans of coke for free. The only thing that I dont like from ordering here is that it's CASH ONLY!  Therefore, minus 1 star.

I've been coming to Bravo's now for about a year after moving into the Crocker-Amazon suburbs.

Great Pizza and free sodas if you take out, good entrees and dinner options, beer by the pitcher and decent red wine, a cozy and family-owned atmosphere, and HUGE portions!

I'm not kidding folks... the entrees are HUGE. Seriously, you could get a spaghetti with mushrooms or a chicken marinara to share with your date, and you'd STILL have leftovers for a big lunch.

great prices, good food, friendly staff... I have no complaints with Bravo Pizza!

Just found out about Bravo Pizza on Yelp and since it was highly rated, I ordered a half Best of Mission and half Veggie, and the vote is in: MEDIOCRE!

I am certainly not from NY to claim to be a pizza connoisseur but I understand what tastes good and what doesn't and let me tell you this place is quite average.

The price as somebody mentioned is not that cheap; our pizza was about $30.

Anyway, it seems Pizza is really a personal choice and you gotta see for yourself how you like it.

Hilarious, snarky, "family-restaurant"-spoofing menus.  When they're on at Bravo Pizza, it's awesome - perfectly chosen toppings on a classic midwestern-style cornmeal crust with just the right amounts of cheese and sauce.  Also, it's true family-style italian where you should order fewer entrees than you have people, and then share everything.

Sadly, about every other time we go there, pizza is *not* up to par.  :-(  Maybe I'm missing the good pizza chef or something.  But everything everyone else has said is true - great ambience, open late, slightly difficult parking, totally welcoming staff, great service.

We are always trying to find good places in excelsior. Went on Yelp and Bravo got really good reviews. However, we were quite disappointe.

The pizza was average at best.  The crust was really thick and quite chewy but lacked taste. In fact, the whole pizza lacked taste. My husband and I will eat about anything but we each had one slice and ended up tossing the rest. Their only redeeming quality was that they gave us free soda (and that will always put my husband in a good mood). Maybe Bravo was having a bad day because we were not impressed.

A group of friends decided to hang around after attending the DHL All Star FanFest with me so I decided to order a couple of pizzas for dinner.  I had never tried Bravo Pizza in the neighborhood, but I had heard some very good things about their food.  If you like thick, bready crusts and large servings of toppings, Bravo may be the pizza for you too.  We had a couple of large pizzas delivered, one with ground beef, sausage, mushrooms and olives and another with chicken, pesto and garlic, and when these arrived they must have been two of the heaviest large pizzas I've ever handled.

The crust was baked fairly crispy on the bottoms but nice and chewy up top and inside.  There must have been an additional half inch of toppings and cheese on each.  The tomato sauce was not too tangy and not too sweet.  The chicken was all white meat, and the pesto was quite good but just a bit on the oily side.  I would easily have given this pizza four and a half stars, but it arrived in just about 35 minutes even though the order taker told us it'd be an hour and they threw in a free six pack of icy cold Coke.  My friends and I thought it was a killer deal.  I will order from them again.

I was dubious when I saw it from the outside but the smell that hits you when you walk in the door makes you feel oh so good.  Very friendly staff hit you at the door, then you're escorted over to a very worn out red pleather booth, 'old shool' yes, me happy.  While the thin crust pizza wasn't all that (hey I just moved from Brooklyn) great it was good enough when combined with the pizza joint atmosphere and the inexpensive red wine.

The place we order pizza from!!!
http://www.bravopizzan...
You have to ask for red pepper and Parmesan or you don't get any... it doesn't come automatically with your order.

Within the last year, we've given up on North Beach and Venice.  We found Little Joe's  to be way too salty and expensive.  Cable Car took too long to deliver. We couldn't find the extra cheese on the pizza from Venice... also they put their pepperoni under the cheese, which irritated my husband.

It's amazing... When you ask for light sauce, it is light sauce! For Bravo, extra cheese isn't a subtle thing... you can tell it has extra cheese.

Bravo gets us our pizza in about 1/2 an hour.  An extra large pizza with extra cheese costs $23. I also can't believe they are so generous to give us three free cans of Coke (or diet Coke if you request it) with the extra large order. My husband and I can be eating the same pizza for three days (reheated in a toaster oven or in a cast iron pan)!!!!

I was turned on to Bravo's by my bf who lives in the area and has been eating there his whole life. While it's probably not the best pizza in the world, it is pretty damn good. If at all possible, eat at the restaurant don't get it delivered, cuz it's the best straight from the oven. Plus, the waitresses and family ambiance of the place makes eating their fun and comfy. Some drawbacks include difficult parking, and the fact that they only take cash, both in the restaurant and for delivery. I've had a couple of their pasta dishes and enjoyed them as well.

The best late night pizza money can buy. Its 2am I just left the and my natives are starving and we had to figure out what to eat.  Everyone was sick of thai food and Denny's so we found pizza way out in the mission not Cable Car not even Blondie's but Bravo Pizza and it was great! The sauce was full of flavor and the topping just made it exciting. We had a small cheese and a small ground beef w/ onions and bell peppers and it was extremely tasty I was suprised a how much the ladies ate that night I think we ordered a third pizza or garlic bread.

Whether your having a party or small gathering and you want to order pizza for that occasion, call this place.   Just good ol' fashion pizza with a thick crust.  Perk points for being open and deliver late night, which is definitely perfect when you want some pizza around that time.

meh. this is thick crust, doughy pizza. If you've had pizza at Haystack Pizza, you've had Bravo's pizza. There is no difference. None. Zippo. I had flashbacks.

We decided to eat in and was treated very well by the waitress. She was sweet and attentive, and even call us "young ladies" as we drank our 1/2 pitcher of beer. yay!

We ordered, 1/2 order of spaghetti + meat sauce, small Bravo combo, & garlic bread.  Food to table was fast -- spaghetti & bread came first, while the pizza arrived 10 minutes later.  As I mentioned, this is a very similar pie to Haystack--which if you read my reviews is not my favorite.

Interior of the place is old school family pizza parlor. Think red, white, & green themes, coloring book dinosaur themed placemats, red vinyl booths & family dining. Bravo is a throwback to your youth. There is 1 TV ( not a sports bar) that had the giants pre-season game.

This is a CASH ONLY place and cell phone use is prohibited.

And about the neighborhood-- It's not sketchy. You don't deserve to live in a city if you can't handle a colorful 'hood.
