When you are tired of waiting in line to eat at 8 Immortals or other chinese restaurants on Taraval, try this hole in the wall instead. Their clay pot offerings are outstanding. And if you can read chinese, their specials for the day are always good.
In particular, try their salt and pepper varieties (i.e. salt and pepper spare ribs). And out of those salt and pepper varieties, be sure to ask for their salt and pepper tofu. The tofu is prepared fresh, flashed fried in the wok with salt, pepper, roasted garlic, and jalapeno peppers. It's so good that I scrape off all the extra pieces of fried garlic and jalapeno leftovers onto my plate so I can hoover it up discreetly. lol.
**UPDATE AS OF 5/1/2008**
This restaurant has not changed its English name from the old sign, Han Geong, to the name now updated on Yelp. The Chinese sign does accurately reflect their new name however.
Only one conclusion: The Chinese sign must have been on sale. Or they got family connections to make the Chinese sign only. ;-)

New owner for the Nth time. Chinese name is now "Shun Duk." Came in for dinner and food didn't disappoint. Prices around Taraval have all kinda gone up over these past couple of years. Food here is at least $5.50 -- gone are the days when a dish is $3.50!!
I know, I know. Inflation. I get it.
Good Chinese food for what it's worth. 2 waiters only today. Slow to meet all the demands.
It's easy to miss this hole in the Sunset as you drive alongside the L Taraval fearing for the lives of those Muni passengers who mindlessly hop out of the streetcar and right in the path of your unsuspecting car. But the Shrimp Egg Fu Yung and the Salt and Pepper pork chops are your well-earned rewards after the harrowing trip. The waitress beamed with pride as she proudly declared that the pork chops at $5+ are some of the most sought after and cheapest in the city. Try www.222.to/hangoeng/ to check out their online incomplete menu. But call as they no longer accept orders via internet.

$5 menu items are a must!!!!
I love their peeking spareribs and the deep-fried flounder. Don't order the clams....they're not fresh, regardless of what they say.
