the best site to check for theater events is: http://www.boston.com/... , created by the Boston Globe newspaper.  on the left bar of the site says featured events, like art, music, dance, theater, etc: http://www.boston.com/...

there weren't any particular "notable" concerts - U2, Andrea Bocelli, etc. are coming in December and Gwen Steafni / BEP came in late October.  If you like the Boston Celtics, they're probably playing at the TD Banknorth Arena.

Thank you Tiff A for the great suggestions and thanks Sky C for asking how the trip went.. I used to live in Boston and never took advantage of local shows and events, so was trying to get a head start on things before I went back for Turkey day.

I ended up having a  great return visit. I spent alot of time with family. Unfortunately with all the family quality time we didn't really get out much. Lots of That 70's Show marathons and poker games. (I'm not complaining) Next time I go back though, I'll be sure to hit you up for  Boston suggestions.

Glad you had fun when you were here! Will you be coming back for Christmas, or staying out in San Francisco?

SF seemed to me like it had a good vibe, but I never really had the chance to experience much when I was out there; I worked a couple of rock shows at a venue near a bunch of questionable clubs and bars, but didn't really see much of the rest of the city. The bridge was pretty, though. :)

Anyway (back on topic), definitely holler when you're coming back!
