My sister is getting married - she wants a bachelorette party but without strippers, and not at a crowded bar.  But we still want to have FUN.  So I was thinking a good restaurant first and maybe a bar or dancing later....where should I look?

Have you been to Ballo? It's the perfect atmosphere for a bachelorette party dinner- really fun atmosphere and the food is great!

I'm going to Lalo's on LaSalle in a couple weeks for a Bachelorette party (yummy margaritas) and then, bar hopping around the area.

Have you been to Shennanigans?  It's a great place to have a bachelorette party and to go out dancing.  It does get crowded so maybe go there a little bit early and you should be fine.  They play early 90's music and it's great to dance to!

Thanks for the suggestions!  All three sound cool, I will investigate.  Early 90s music would go over fine since most of the guests are in their 30s.

I also got email from Bill M. suggesting Mambo Grill.

I have another for you- Howl at the Moon would be GREAT for you guys!  It's a piano bar that would be a great place for a Bachelorette party- you can make it as low key or as crazy as you want by either getting a table in the back and listening to the music or being front and center around the piano.  There is a cover charge though- I believe it is $10 if that makes a difference.  Have fun!

i saw a pretty fun bachelorette party at mambo grill across from the street from frontera grill.  make a reservation on the lowel level where they usually hold gatherings. there's a lot of fun bars in the area -- i wouldn't recommend the baton lounge :)
